The best book for
you to read before LEARNERS, (assuming you’ve already read Voltaire) would be TRUTH
by David available at http://truthbydavid.com. If you are interested in world peace and/or being
the first on your block to discover a new literary classic, go buy a copy from
him and read it.
Jean Bacon’s book, Les Saigneurs de la Guerre,
editions l’Harmattan, Paris, 1995, supplements Section WHY quite nicely. It is also available in translation (The Greater Glory), though it
is out of print until its third edition is translated. See the Bibliography.
Michael Lerner’s The
Politics of Meaning: Restoring Hope and Possibility in an Age of Cynicism,
(Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, Reading Massachusetts, 1996) writes the
clearest, most pragmatic description of peace mentality I have found. His text supplements LEARNERS’ HOW
succinctly.
As to the Section WHAT and its peace technology, the cleanest rendition I've
seen of it – far better than mine – is in The Little Earth Book by James
Bruges. It's better written, easier to
read and far shorter: recommended reading.
Another good stop-off would be Robley E. George’s Socioeconomic
Democracy: An Advanced Socioeconomic System, Praeger Studies on the 21st
Century, Praeger Publishers, Westport, Connecticut, London, 2002, p. 91.
“Socioeconomic Democracy is a model socioeconomic subsystem in which there is
some form of Universal Guaranteed Personal Income [UGI] as well as some form of
Maximum Allowable Personal Wealth [MAW], with both the lower bound on personal
material poverty and the upper bound on personal material wealth set and
adjusted democratically by all society.”
Please note, LEARNERS:
On the Move from WeaponWorld to PeaceWorld seeks with its still, small
voice, to trigger an avalanche of progressive transformations operating in
unison and mutual reinforcement (WHY and HOW); more so than specify the detail
and the chronology of those transformations (WHAT). Specialists a thousand times more qualified
can bring to life their topics of passion, once the world stage is properly set by
Learners.
Politics of Meaning: Restoring Hope and Possibility in an Age of Cynicism,
Little Earth Book) par James Bruges.
Advanced Socioeconomic System, Praeger Studies on the 21st
Century, Praeger Publishers, Westport, Connecticut, London, 2002, p. 91.
Note bien, je te prie.
Here follows a list of my acknowledgements. My apologies to thousands of brilliant
authors who helped mold my conscience but who never made it into this
listing. I’ve always loved to read, much
more so than deal with slippery, crafty and often malevolent (rarely
deliberately, most often through sheer inattention) humans instead of much
wiser books. Be advised, like most
books, music and other art: Learners is much wiser than its silly,
all-too-human author. Learn from it, not
from me.
